Tidbits from the 2004 Election….
School children picked the Presidential winner in Scholastic Magazine when more than a half million students predicted that President Bush would win. They have been wrong only twice since 1940!
Eighteen out of 23 Maryland Counties went for the President.
President Bush won by more than 3.5 million votes.
He becomes the first presidential candidate to win more than 50% of the popular vote since 1988.
He becomes the first President re-elected while gaining seats in both the House and Senate since 1936!
The GOP increased the totals in Governors.  |
